Terms of use
Terms of Use
These terms cover your use of the Follicl iOS app. They sit alongside Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the "Standard EULA"), which also applies. Where the two conflict, these terms take precedence to the extent the Standard EULA allows. By using Follicl, you agree to both.
1. What Follicl is, and isn't
Follicl helps you take consistent photos of your hairline and compare them over time.
It isn't a medical device and doesn't provide medical advice, diagnosis or treatment. Hairline traces, comparisons and any other output are approximate visual aids. Lighting, angle, hair length and styling can all affect them.
Don't make medical or treatment decisions based on Follicl alone. Talk to a dermatologist or another qualified clinician about hair loss or any treatment.
2. Subscriptions
Some features need a paid subscription. Follicl currently offers monthly and annual plans. Current prices are shown in the app before you buy.
- Payment is charged to your Apple ID when you confirm the purchase.
- Your subscription renews automatically at the same price and for the same period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends.
- Your Apple ID is charged for the renewal within the 24 hours before the current period ends.
- You can manage or cancel your subscription in Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions on your iPhone. If you cancel, access continues until the end of the period you've paid for.
- If a free trial is offered, any unused part of it ends when you buy a subscription.
- Refunds are handled by Apple under Apple's policies.
3. Your content
Your scans belong to you. They're stored on your device, and we don't have access to them. See the Privacy Policy for details.
You're responsible for keeping your own backups. If you delete the app or lose your device, we can't recover your scans.
4. Acceptable use
Use Follicl only to photograph yourself, or someone who has given you permission. Don't try to reverse-engineer the app, get around its subscription checks, or use it in a way that breaks the law.
5. Disclaimers
Follicl is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We don't promise that the app will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that any particular result will be achieved.
6. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Follicl and its developers aren't liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages. That includes any decision you make based on the app's output.
Our total liability for any claim relating to the app is limited to the amount you paid for Follicl in the 12 months before the claim.
Some jurisdictions don't allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you.
7. Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. We'll post the new version here and change the effective date. If you keep using Follicl after a change, that means you accept the updated terms.
